Congratulations on securing a place at the world's leading half marathon!

Thank you for choosing to take part in the Great North Run in aid of Teesside Hospice. Most people are surprised to learn that the annual running costs of Teesside Hospice are in excess of £3.1 million, meaning we must raise £6,700 each and every day of the year to keep going! But with your fundraising efforts, together we can ensure that nobody has to face a life limiting illness alone!

To create your own fundraising page simply click Get started! Once you've customised your page, start sharing it with friends, family and colleagues, asking them to donate. Each donation is then recorded on your fundraising page along with a message of support from your donors. You can also post pictures and updates about your fundraising. From bucket collecting to raising money at work, it's up to you! The more you share, the more your supporters can share your journey with you...

Top Tips!

  1. Keep shouting about it! On average it takes 2-3 asks before someone will donate.
  2. Carry a sponsor form everywhere you go, so that you don’t miss an opportunity to raise money!
  3. Tell friends and family why you’re fundraising. Give them examples of where the money goes.
  4. Ask 10 friends, colleagues or family members to raise £100 each for you - this will raise an additional £1000.
  5. Keep sharing. Fill Facebook and Twitter with news and updates of your fundraising progress.
  6. Make sure you use the hashtag #teessidehospice so we can keep up to date with your fundraising efforts and give you a shout out!
  7. Make it personal. Once you’ve set up a fundraising page, put your personal stamp on it by adding photos, videos and updates so that your supporters can share your journey with you.
  8. As your fundraising event approaches, send reminders to everyone asking them to support you. Update them on your progress so they feel involved and get behind you every step of the way.
  9. When someone makes a donation - say thanks! Both social media and an online fundraising page can make it easier for you to send a thank you message.
